The CCM Ultra Tacks skate may be one of the most evolved power performance hockey skate using today’s customary skate making technology. Featuring the AttackFrame 2, the CCM Ultra Tacks consist of a stiff carbon composite construction, shaped to connect the player’s feet with the skates. Combined with incredible heat molding properties , high definition heel lock and an ergonomically wrapped forefoot helps to create the ultimate force transfer platform for players to feel as fast as they possibly can.

Features that will set this skate apart from the Super Tacks will be the 2-piece AttackFrame 2 technology which is a super stiff carbon composite boot frame that sits atop a lightweight extra stiff carbon composite outsole. This is important because as it is more of a traditional style design, the Ultra Tacks stiff boot and outsole maximize energy output, easily making it a pro level skate. The ankle padding on the inside will also be symmetrical foam comfort pads meant to wrap around the foot for a nice customized fit. Like the Super Tacks, this model offers up CCM’s most anatomical fit to date.

Other than the fit difference (thanks to the Monoframe 360 technology) and the absence of an outsole on the Super Tacks, the Ultra Tacks isn’t all too different when it comes to other high quality features. All the bells and whistles are featured including TotalDri Liner, a lightweight liner that wicks away moisture very quickly and works well with the vent placed on the outsole of the skate. These features work together to push any moisture out of the boot, keeping the skate even more lightweight and comfortable. Another nice little addition is a bit of grip on the flashy yellow lining to really help lock down your feet to prevent any movement on the inside. For durability purposes, abrasion patches were added to the liner where the eyelets are found along with comfort padding on the neck of the skate to give comfort and extend the longevity of the Ultra Tacks skate.

Moving to the tongue, CCM used their Tritech Pro felt tongue. This is a nice 7mm felt tongue with HDPE (high density) foam and fully equipped with an injected lace-bite prevention zone for increased comfort but most of all for that protection.

Lastly, we see the SpeedBlade 4.0 Holder which provides an additional four millimeters of height (when compared to the older E-Pro holder) mounted to the Ultra Tacks. This holder allows for a greater angle of attack and more aggressive turns. Complementing the SpeedBlade 4.0 Holder is CCM’s corrosion-resistant SpeedBlade Black runner. This blade also comes loaded with performance benefits as it has undergone an oxidation process that increases surface hardness which translates to holding an edge longer and reduces the likelihood that it will chip or flake. Additionally, the high quality finish provides lower friction which in turn gives you a faster glide and more speed.
