Description
The major changes to the unit have come in the stomach area. Vaughn has redesigned the belly section to further allow better movement across the entire body line of the stomach. With larger belly blocks, there is more surface area on the stomach giving the goalie confidence in their equipment. The blocks are filled with layered HD foams and carbon fiber inserts which wraps around the side of the body aiding in not only more protection but comfort as well. The sternum plate is also filled with the same protection in the belly, but also segmented under the floaters to increase movement.
Moving to the top half of the unit, Vaughn has redesigned the tailored fit and adjustments that a chest protector can have. The arms, spineplate and shoulder floaters all connect via Velcro patches to give the goalie the quickest and most dialed in adjustments they need. Not only does this improvement allow for quick adjustments, but it also increases the range of sizes that different goalies need. The arms can adjustment up or down depending on the size of the goalie for protection, but even aid in helping keep growing goalies protected.
The arms in the V7 XR feature standard Vaughn elbow caps which are slim in their profile but offer a tight feeling to the goalies arm and include 4 elastic adjustment points. The forearm of the unit has also been profiled and tapered to allow for a better fit into the goalies glove and blocker.
